Arbitration Act 2013
The new Arbitration Act, 2013, which came into force on 1 October 2014, provides the BVI with a modern statutory framework incorporating the UNCITRAL Model Law into domestic legislation. Simultaneously, the New York Convention, which provides for reciprocal enforcement of arbitral awards, is fully extended to the British Virgin Islands from 25 May 2014.
