Description
Mélida Hodgson is a leading investor-state and commercial arbitration practitioner and arbitrator with three decades of experience. She represents clients in ICSID, ICC, and UNCITRAL arbitrations and serves as arbitrator under ICC and AAA/ICDR rules. Appointed in 2024 by President Biden to the U.S. list of the ICSID Panel of Conciliators, she is also president of the American Society of International Law. Mélida is highly regarded for her work in Latin America, advising sovereigns such as Venezuela, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay. Her expertise spans infrastructure, construction, mining, transportation, energy, and business combinations. She also holds leadership roles with the ICC Institute and AAA/ICDR, and co-founded Washington Women in International Arbitration.
