Michael Polkinghorne, a Franco-Australian dual-qualified lawyer, heads White & Case’s Paris arbitration group. With extensive experience in arbitration and litigation across energy, telecommunications, project finance, and infrastructure, he has acted as counsel and arbitrator under ICC, LCIA, SCC, UNCITRAL, and other major rules. A former Australian member of the ICC Court, he is a council member of the ICC Institute and has worked on disputes involving 30 countries, often in cases involving state entities and foreign direct investment. Michael also advises on energy and infrastructure projects worldwide and teaches courses on energy contracts and dispute resolution.
