Nick Burkill
Description
Nick Burkill is an international commercial disputes lawyer in the British Virgin Islands where he has been admitted since 2016. Prior to his move to the BVI he practised for nearly 30 years in the City of London as an English solicitor and solicitor-advocate first with a leading English firm and then a major US firm. He has experience of a broad range of disputes including company control and shareholder disputes, trust disputes and fiduciary duties of directors and trustees. In addition to advising and representing clients before the BVI Commercial Court, he regularly represents clients as co-counsel in arbitrations and accepts appointments as arbitrator.
Mr Burkill was appointed to the BVI Bar Disciplinary Tribunal (2024 to 2026) during which time he served as chair and member of the panel in a number of complaints; he was re-appointed by the Chief Justice for a further term from 2026 to 2028.
